The Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Royal Children's Hospital of Melbourne warmly welcomes you to our seventh intensive educational programme that will be devoted in 2009 to paediatric hand, upper limb and microsurgery.

The programme has been designed to include topics that will appeal to both trainees and experienced surgeons. It will also enable all plastic and orthopaedic surgeons to refresh their knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of many difficult conditions that present in the paediatric and adolescent population. This course will assist those who see some children in their practices and particularly those involved in volunteer international missions.

We are delighted to have two eminent guest speakers to present their considerable experience and approach to managing key aspects of congenital, acquired and developmental anomalies of the upper limb.

The success of our educational programmes since 1995 highlights the popularity of providing regular updates in the important specialised topics of paediatric reconstruction.

Finally, we hope that our interstate and international visitors will allow time to enjoy some of the pleasures of Melbourne, a sophisticated capital known for its Spring Racing Carnival, fine dining, theatre and recreational coastal activities.
